I am flying from Nice into CDG Terminal 2F and will transfer to a flight into San Francisco leaving from CDG Terminal 2E.
Is it feasible to get from 2F to 2E in 45 minutes? Is there a bus involved or can I walk?
When I reserved the flight, 45 minutes seemed adequate, but after reading the posts here, I have some serious concerns. As it is imperative I make the flight to San Francisco, should I attempt to arrange an earlier flight from Nice to make sure there%26#39;s adequate time for the connection?
Many thanks for your help.

45 minutes is cutting it short.
You can walk from 2E TO 2 F,
I would not be comfortable with such a connection in these days and age where you get checked a few times before boarding and even as you are boarding.

If everything turned out perfectly timed, you could possibly make that connection if you really speed-walked, but if you have the opportunity to arrange for a longer period of time, I sure would suggest that. 45 minutes is pretty tight, especially if your flight from Nice is delayed, or if it parks out in the outer-reaches of the airport and they bus you to 2F. You%26#39;ll be worrying about making the connection from now till then..change the flight if you can.

Thank you so much for your help! I was able to arrange an extra half hour between flights, so now have 1 hour and 15 minutes for the transfer. Air France assures me there shouldn%26#39;t be a problem, so I suppose I must trust in their expertise.

Sofie Rose...we did this same connection in July of 2005 only we were going Chicago. Took us 1.5 hours to get from plane to plane and we only made a bathroom stop. We were so happy to get to 2E and we had a 1/2 hour to rest...or so we thought. We got to 2E and were ushered out a door and into a bus. The bus took us to who knows where...a terminal someplace...we rushed in...only to stand in line again...have boarding passes checked and ushered to ANOTHER bus that took us to the plane. It was not a good experience. There were still people behind us that had to get on a different bus. The plane took off about a 1/2 hour late. Good luck. I love Paris...to bad the direct flights from USA go to CDG.

If the whole trip is booked as one ticket, then they have to make the plane wait for you, and in worst case they have to rebook you on an other flight and give you money for doing so.

I once again spoke with Air France and they continue to insist I have %26quot;plenty of time%26quot; to make the transfer. In tracking the Paris/San Francisco flight, I discovered it consistently leaves CDG late (usually an hour and up to two hours). Under normal circumstances this would
be a bother, but given the situation, it offers some peace of mind. Fortunately I will be traveling alone and all my luggage will be checked so I should be able to move swiftly from 2F to 2E.
Thanks to all the great input I received here, I will at least be prepared for whatever comes my way - a significant advantage. Again, many thanks.

We just returned and had a similar connection 2E to 2F, it is an easy walk you just take the escalator down one floor then take the moving walkway across and then go up the escalator, no problem, the rub comes when you get to security, because of the new regulations regarding liquids they go thru everything everyone has with them and that takes time, they even threw out my husbands prescription toothpaste. As a result most international flights are leaving late because they are waiting for most passengers to clear security. You also must take a long bus ride to the plane, we were on the first bus load and it was at least an hour before the last bus load arrived. So bring your patience along for the return trip. I wouldnt be too concerned about making the connections because they are waiting for the passengers but you might alert whoever is meeting you at home that you will probably be late.

We just returned from an Air France trip and transferred 3 times thru CDG. I would not trust a 45 minute connection, particularly if you are arriving early in the morning from the US when a number of other international flights arrive. It can take 30 minutes just to get thru immigration and then you have to take more buses. We spent a lot of time on buses. A bus from the plane to the terminal. A bus from one terminal to another and then another bus back to your next plane. (This was on our Rome to London flight.)
On top of it all, Air France failed to transfer our luggage on our outbound flight and it didn%26#39;t make it to Rome in time for us to have it on our cruise. One bag showed up in Malta (day 5), one in Palermo (day 6) and one back in Rome (day 7). We are still waiting for my wife%26#39;s clothes. The fourth bag is now %26quot;missing%26quot;. You get little satisfaction from dealing with Air France baggage services.
In the future I will spend the extra money to take a different airline.

%26gt;If the whole trip is booked as one ticket, then they have to make the plane wait for you, and in worst case they have to rebook you on an other flight and give you money for doing so.%26gt; Njutning, which airline gives you money if they don%26#39;t wait for you ?
I do agree that if you are booked through and have a %26quot;legal%26quot; connection, then they must put you on the next flight available at no %26quot;extra%26quot; charge to you, but I have never been given money for any missed connection for any reason. I find that it is usually worth the chance for me to take a tight connection because in worst case scenerio I am usually on the next flight out which is the same flight I would be on ANYWAY had I taken the longer connection time. This way at least I have a chance to get home (or where I am going) in better time. Ok, worst scenerio is that the next flight is booked solid and then there is not another flight that day...lol. So, good to check and see that there are couple more flights to get home on before booking the tight connection.
I have made 45 minutes before in CDG, but don%26#39;t know if it was that terminal change. I just remember waiting walking off the aircraft on that very first trip through CDG years ago and realizing I had to take a shuttle and only having 45 minutes. I bout freaked, but I made it !!

Back in May we had a 55 minute connection. I told my husband and relatives that we%26#39;d never make it. Of course they just decided I was being the voice of doom and didn%26#39;t believe me. Well...we didn%26#39;t make it. (I bit my tongue until it was bloody to stop from saying, %26quot;I told you so!%26quot;) Well, I probably eventually said it anyway. There were no more flights to the USA that day. And this was back-to-back with getting stuck for a night in Naples (the night before due to an airline issue!) Amazingly enough, AirFrance accomodated us in a hotel, gave us meal vouchers and put us on a flight the next day. I guess someone was just in a good mood. So we basically spent 2 extra nights in Europe (no fun because we were tired and frustrated). I guess it can be done, especially with the extra time you have, but you absolutely need to be prepared to miss your flight. I%26#39;m not saying it will happen, but it certainly can at CDG. Have medications with you and anything else that you may have to have if you%26#39;re stuck. It%26#39;s a bit tougher now with the restrictions for carry-ons, but it%26#39;s better to be prepared. I hope things work perfectly for you!
P.S. We absolutely love SF! One of our favorite cities in the US. You%26#39;re lucky to live there!
Vicki
