We are spending 5 days in Paris, arriving Saturday around noon and departing Wed. evening on night train to Venice from Bercy. Which transportation pass would be best and most economical for us? We are staying in 17th and plan on using metro %26amp; busses plus funiculare. Thanks for any suggestions.

The only pass that would work for you is a five day Zone 1-3 Paris Visite pass. At 26€65 I don%26#39;t think it is a very good buy unless you intend to take advantage of any of the basket of special offers that come as part of the pass. You%26#39;d have to use the buses or métro at least five times a day on the average to make it economical otherwise. If not the PV pass, carnets of ten individual tickets at 10€90 would be your best option. For single days when you anticipate using the métro/buses more than usual you could also buy a one day Zone 1-2 Mobils Pass for 5€50 but again that will only be worthwhile if you use the buses/métro six or more times on that particular day.
Some research on the RATP (Paris transport) site will probably help you get the lay of the land, so to speak.
There is a link in this post (some of whose prices are a bit out of date) to a post by Arrowcapet detailing all the deals that come with the PV pass.
