Accommodation dilemma

I have been looking into the Paris areas and hotels the past weekend and I need assistance, please.

My husband and I will visit Paris for the first time in November for 5 days. We plan to visit the monuments and the museums during the day and go out in the evenings, not partying but just for a drink or coffee. One day shopping is a must :) Which area would you recommend for 30-year old couple, trying to explore day and night life of Paris?

Any recommendations for hotels app.120-130EUR/night, renovated and clean?

Thank you !!!

Ana

Hi Ana:

I%26#39;d definitely recommend the 6th arrondissement. It%26#39;s great for shopping and nightlife and it%26#39;s not too far from the big tourist attractions (which are accessible by metro anyway). You may want to try the Hotel Mayet. Friends of mine stayed there enjoyed it. If that%26#39;s not available, try to narrow down some hotels that are available in your price range during your travel dates and write back for specific help to narrow down those choices.

Of course, if you%26#39;re coming up empty handed, there are many other great areas to stay in Paris...

Good luck!

Maybe Hotel St Thomas d%26#39;Aquin, which is in the 7th but on the border of the 6th. Renovated within past 2 years and all rooms at 130€, I believe.

You probably can%26#39;t get a renovated room in the 6th (St Germain) for your price, at least none come to mind.

Hotel Muguet in the 7th has been renovating over the past year - there are some cafes in the area that are open for coffee/dessert, etc at night but it isn%26#39;t a %26#39;hopping%26#39; entertainment district.

My boyfriend and I just got back a couple of days ago and stayed in the Rue Cler area and loved it - our hotels were a little cheaper than what you are wanting to pay - but they were clean and had everything we needed. Our first hotel (hotel kensington) even had a view of the eiffel tower from our window. We liked the area - it was close to the metro, Rue Cler is a fabulous place to hang out and have a croissant and tea in the morning - and we often went there late in the day to buy picnic stuff and would picnic under the Eiffel Tower in the park which was a 5 minute walk from our hotel.

Remember - the metro is so fabulous, and can have you anywhere in the city almost within 10 minutes.
