Driving from UK to Paris, need advise

Hi we are driving to Paris from the Uk, for the first time.

Any advise about where I can find advise on road signs, and the like, also Thing I need to have in the car, that sort of thing?

Dont want to break the law just casue we didn%26#39;t know!!!!
