I will be at the Panoramic Bar at the Hotel Concorde Lafayette (on the 33rd floor at 3, place du Général Koenig (Metro: Porte Maillot) at 8pm on Sunday, 1 OCT celebrating my 40th birthday. I know there are a few other TA posters who are celebrating a birthday at the same time, so I am inviting everyone who will be in Paris at the time (birthday celebrations notwithstanding) to come up to the 33rd floor and gaze out upon the city. The bar has one of the best views around, especially of the Eiffel Tower twinkling at night. I am going to try to reserve a few tables on the window earlier that week, so if you would like to stop by and have a cocktail, meet a few TA folks, and just have a good time, let me know on here, or send an email to arrowcapet@yahoo.com before 23 SEP, so I know how much space to reserve.

Bumping. It%26#39;s just two weeks away.

Arrowcarpet, I put a little %26quot;advertisement%26quot;%26quot; for your get-together on my post for mine on Oct. 11. Hopefully, the cross-reference will help others find you.

Many thanks waytogogirl. And of course, you%26#39;re most encouraged to stop by. I know you%26#39;ll be busy having just arrived, but you%26#39;re always wecome to stop in for a quick hello and a %26quot;Bienvenue a Paris%26quot; refreshment.

Hi ArrowCapet
Thanks for the invitation - what a truly generous and lovely idea !
I would love to come, but I shall not be in Paris until later that month.
BTW: is the Panoramic bar a very fashionable place (dresscode ?) -I was already planning that we should go there for pre-dinner drinks pr night caps one evening.
And a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you.

Thanks GitteK. It%26#39;s always had a mix of people when I%26#39;ve been there because it%26#39;s in the hotel (business suits/jackets and ties standing next to casual wear), but for the most part, it%26#39;s an over 30++ crowd, so it tends to lean more toward %26quot;appropriate%26quot; dress...but there%26#39;s quite an %26quot;International%26quot; crowd as well...i.e., tourists, meaning one might never know what may turn up.
HOWEVER!!!! After receiving a couple of emails from folks who are less than enthusiastic about paying that kind of money, I%26#39;ve decided to MOVE the gathering to a place that%26#39;s not so pricey so everyone who wants can come without worrying about breaking the bank.
So...instead....we%26#39;ll just take over a couple of tables and have dinner at Le Petit Prince in the QL. It%26#39;s at 12, rue de Lanneau (across the street from that awful chou chou place). Awesome food, and not too expensive (20-35€)
We will need reservations, so I%26#39;ll need anyone who wants to come to RSVP on here or to arrowcapet@yahoo.com.
It%26#39;ll be a great evening. So anyone in town on the first is more than welcome.

Arrowcarpet, I love le Petit Prince and it is very convenient to my appart. ! Do you need to get a headcount ? Because with all I have to do that day in preparation for guests the next morning at my appartment, I may need to turn in early due to jetlag. It is still 8pm right ?

ArrowCapet,
Now I%26#39;m really jealous that I won%26#39;t be able to be in Paris soon. We could have hit Versailles together, and compare PMPs. LOL

wtgg: Yep, 8pm. I don%26#39;t think it will be a big deal if you show up at the last minute. I%26#39;ll try to reserve the tables upstairs in the back on the right-hand side. Those have the banquettes along the wall, so at the very least, we%26#39;ll be able to squeeze in another body without actually having to find a chair. This is very cool. Even if you just stop by for a Kir Royale and dessert, it would be great to meet you.
Tricia: Yes..LOL...Versailles with you would be a treat.

Bumping.
I leave on Saturday, and won%26#39;t be following TA while I%26#39;m away. If anyone%26#39;s interested in dinner at Le Petit Prince on 1 Oct, please respond to this post or email me in the next couple of days. I will check email while I%26#39;m gone, but sporadically. I will also be going to Versailles on that Sunday for the final fountain display of the season, so if anyone wants to hook up for that, let me know.
waytogogirl: I will leave Paris before you have your GT on the 11th, but I%26#39;ll be there until the 5th. If you don%26#39;t make it on the 1st, but want to meet for drinks on another night, email me.
