I love to travel and love italy%26#39;s small hill towns and villages. Would I love Provence%26#39;s small villages? We love nature and green hills with lots of places for picnics. We%26#39;re not really into museums but we love the quaint little villages and love to sit at a little cafe with wine or coffee watching the locals.
Which place did you like better? What stands out the most in both areas that are unique to those areas? I love tuscany and umbria and cant get enough though provence sounds interesting too...
I would love to hear your thoughts on any that has traveled at these 2 places..
Thanks!

Like you I have enjoyed Tuscany and its ambiance. I am going to Provence for the first time this month and from the reading and planning I have done I believe it too will have a %26quot;come back%26quot; pull. I will be writing my impressions on my return. I have had wonderful help planning the trip by using this forum; people are so willing to share their experiences and insights.
Another Italian area you should consider sometime is the Piedmont - absolutely fabulous - great towns, hilltop villages, wine and food.

Hi,
Having done a week (not enough!) in both Provence %26amp; Tuscany earlier this year....we have to say that you will love them as much as each other.....well we did!
Beautiful in different ways, Provence has a serene romaticism about it and the small villages, wineries, cafes, antique shops will have you coming back.
Small villages / towns in the Luberon (where we focussed on) such as Saignon, Bonnieaux, Lacoste, Rousillion, Gordes and Lourmain are gorgeous and there are plenty of cafes, restaurants to watch the world go by.
There are some excellent walking / cycling tracks through this region and worthy of a look if you like nature.
Go for it!
