I promised I would pack light !!

I am leaving shortly for a month in Paris (as many of you already know). I promised myself I would pack light and buy what I needed there, but this has posed a problem with trying to decide on a few key pieces. And, my last (very enjoyable I must say) fashion thread was halted.

I have one very important question ! Pant lengths have been all over the place in the last year. I have packed my only pair of black skinny pants which I know are in style. If I had to choose another pair (or two) what length would be most fashionable in Paris right now ?? Thanks ya%26#39;ll !

gouchos

Knee (bermuda) shorts

capri/ peddle pushers

long pants, but with boot leg cut

Waytogogirl--

I would vote for long and skinny-- they look generally classier than anything else and can be paired with casual or dressy tops more easily. I personally think gauchos are only stylish and flattering if you are 6 ft. tall and 115 lbs. Capris tend to cut your leg look in half

and make you look shorter and squat. Boot leg cut pants would be great with snazzy boots underneath. Have a great trip!! Envy you!

Thanks. Bluesue, I was asking what in addtion to the skinny legged pants I should bring. I know those are a given, but I am trying so hard not to throw every pair of the others listed to make sure I have what I will feel more comfortable in when I get there. I think I may go with the long pants and the black bermuda shorts. That is how I am leaning now. Thanks for your input.

Are gouchos already OUT ? Don%26#39;t see them like I did last season.

Fall weather probably won%26#39;t be warm enough to warrant the Bermuda shorts.

Waytogogirl,

My sister and I just returned from Paris yesterday and what I would call %26quot;City Shorts%26quot; were in alot of the windows and stores. So that might be the thing to take. They almost always were paired with leggings, I would assume for warmth since fall is definitely in the air. Capris were also prevalant. So I would just go with what you were most comfortable with.

Hope you enjoy Paris! We were there for 9 days and had a wonderful time.

What exactly are %26quot;city shorts%26quot;? And you wear the leggings underneath them?

|||

If I were you I would forget the %26quot;black bermuda shorts%26quot; , I%26#39;d bring only another pair of long pants.

The Bermuda shorts are in all the shop windows, but nobody is actually wearing them. According to last week%26#39;s Madame Figaro, this is an annual plague, and a fashion best left ot the very young and very slender.

Given what I am seeing on the streets these days, boot leg long pants would be your best bet.

Bootleg trousers are starting to look very dated. If you go for the capris you can wear them with knee boots and they%26#39;ll look like skinny, or wear them with ballet bumps and a scarf for a very fashionable look.

Shoesy: %26quot;What exactly are %26quot;city shorts%26quot;? And you wear the leggings underneath them?%26quot;

They have been in the %26quot;STAR%26quot; Magazine the last couple of weeks! Yeah! they wear usually black leggings under them! I saw some cuffed shorts tweedy brown wool fabric with brown leggings cut capri length.

The STAR editors have been critical of the look on some stars...

I think it really looks funny cutting off ones legs in weird places twice!

But if one is really young and skinny it can look cute Teeny Bopper Style!

I do not think it will last!

Thanks for the description, Discover. It almost sounds like what some of the girls (the young ones) wear in my ballet class - footless tights with shorts over them. Interesting.
