Le 'Long weekend' en Paris

Bonjour!

One of the guys in the London Forum suggested I ask here!

I am coming to Paris for the weekend of Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October. To make it a long weekend and avoid the weekend rush, I was thinking of arriving on, say, Thursday 5th, and leaving on, say, Tuesday 10th (travelling by Eurostar train from London). I need a low to mid-priced single room with en-suite bathroom in a central area.

Any suggestions?

I can recommend hotel College de France on Rue Thenard in the Quartier Latin. It was very central and a perfect location, tucked away just off Blvd. St. Germain. I found it by rave reviews here on TA and the rates are well under 100 euro for a single. I also loved Hotel St. Jacques one block over on Rue des Ecoles, and although slightly more expensive, they have very inexpensive singles on their top floor (lift only goes to one floor below top floor). It was not as quiet there, but the hotel is very nice.

You will be in Paris for Nuit Blanche on Sat. the 7th ! You should enjoy the all night festivities !

Hi --

Also try www.ratestogo.com - they specialize in last minute reservations and when I checked just now they have a very large selection of single rooms around the city.

I selsom have the opportunity to make plans very far in advance so I use this site frequently. I have found them to be absolutely reliable and have found hotels in a number of cities on 3 continents over a period of five years or more.

Good luck - and bon voyage.
