Hello, just a few questions on the Museum Pass (I%26#39;m consid ng th day pass)
1) Is the pass every discounted? If so, where, when, etc.?
2) Is it better to purchase the pass in Paris or in advance?
3) Am I correct in assuming that it includes entry into the Metro system?
Thanks in advance to your responses.

1. the pass is never discounted and...
2. you do NOT want to buy it in advance b/c then it will have a surcharge for the %26#39;convenience%26#39;. It is easy to buy at the tourist offices or any musuem or monument listed on the pass
3. it does NOT include any transportation

Hi - there is a Paris Pass that does include transport zones 1-3, one day hop on/off bus, one seine cruise...check out..http://www.paris-pass.com/
You%26#39;d have to work out the maths....plus there%26#39;s a delivery charge as you can%26#39;t print off a voucher - they are posted to you, which also has risks.
I%26#39;m spending 8 nights in Paris, will be buying a carte orange and 4 day museum pass, and the bus and cruise tix separately - all in Paris.
I don%26#39;t thing the Paris Pass gives you any real savings, except that it%26#39;s all included in one ticket..but part of the fun for me is buying the tickets.....

Thanks very much for your posts. I thought that I had read somewhere about the transit....I must have got the Paris Pass mixed up with the Museum Pass. Can the Paris Pass only be purchased in advance, then?
|||
it would appear so as you can only have them mailed to you.

It%26#39;s so easy to purchase a museum pass at one of the Paris museums or attractions. Buying this pass only makes sense if you plan on visiting 3-4 sights or museums per day. Otherwise you can take advantage of the 50% discount on Sundays and after 3 pm on weekdays. Also, I think there is free entry to museums on the first Sunday of every month.
You are confusing the museum pass with the RER pass, which is a separate cost altogether.
