Paristay Apartments

Booked for 19 Rue Jean Jacques Rousseau in March 2006 and asked for full rental. Assume this is usual (?), but would like to hear from anyone who has actually used them as requested reference unavailable due to current tenant being away. Have already paid agents fee. Have read scams topic.

Sorry, haven%26#39;t used them. The company I used http://www.parisvacationapartments.com/ asked for half up front and half about 30 days prior. They suggested that we buy trip insurance in case we couldn%26#39;t come. In case you decide to change and they have something, they are Great to work with.

Be very wary.

We prepaid Paristay for a two week stay at a two bedroom, luxury, high security building apartment with an elevator. When we arrived the entry door was unlocked, non functioning, and the elevator was out of order. There were major repairs being done on the stairwell and public area walls and the elevator doors were taped and shrinkwrapped on the first floor and above. The agency disclaimed any prior knowledge of these problems. Since our promised apartment was on the fourth floor, five flights up, we were incapable of using the site even if we were willing to live in an unsecured building.

The agency did find us a smaller, more expensive, apartment in an apartment hotel close by but we were stuck with the entire cost. We have small prospect of recovering the $3000 + rental price we transfered by bank months ago to the apartment owner. While we have been repaid the agency fee, it took ten days rather than the promised three days. They did send us a lovely bouquet of flowers.

Zenophile,

I just rented an apartment with paristay for a month and paid 1/2 up front and the other half is due 30 days prior to arrival. It is a month long rental. I was asked for full payment up front, but the agency helped me negotiate with the owner. I also was able to get the deposit brought down as they wanted a full month rent on arrival, but it has been reduced to 1/2.

Basically, what I am saying is they may help you negotiate, however it is up to the seller as to how they will work with you. I have been very happy with the agency response to questions and emails and so far I am happy.

Bon Chance!
