Saturday flights to Figari

I am trying to book a two week trip to Corsica in May, the problem I have is 99% on the villas do accomodation Saturday to Saturday, and I can only find direct flights to Figari from the UK on Sundays.

Does anyone know the best/cheapest way to get to Figari on a Saturday?

Your help would be very much appreciated!

I think you%26#39;ll struggle for direct flights on a Saturday. You can do it by flying via Paris or Nice - both of which are fairly well served by budget airlines from the UK.

I%26#39;m not sure about your percentage btw, the French visitors believe in a Saturday to Saturday let, but the English are hooked on Sunday to Sunday (and have the flights tailored to match - or maybe it%26#39;s the other way round). So if you use a British based villa rental operation you should end up with a Sunday-Sunday without too much trouble.

It%26#39;s very expensive going to Corsica on a Saturday - you more or less have to go Air France/CCM or take a ferry from Nice, Pisa or somewhere you can fly to cheaply.

If I were you I%26#39;d book the two weeks, forfeit the first Saturday and travel with BA, XL, Thomson, or one of the others on a Sunday. On your last night on the island, you could book into a small hotel for a night (not a problem in May) and enjoy somewhere different. You%26#39;ll have two weeks to find somewhere really nice.

My suspicion is that this is rooted in French attitudes. Perhaps when flights from the UK were introduced, they allocated us a less attractive day so as not to interfere with the French holidaymakers!

As a result we arrive almost too late for lunch, on a day when everything closes in the afternoon, and have difficulty coordinataing accommmodation.

You just have to deal with it. Or spend money on French airlines.
