Spend a day off and on the Batobus

2 days in Paris is just enough to scratch the surface, but better than no time at all. Cityrama and Parisvision both have tours, but can be expensive. If you go on your own, limit yourself to just the major sites. What I list here are the most popular, and a rather ambitious tour! Get a Paris guidebook and map.
FYI--The Eiffel Tower and Musee d%26#39;Orsay will have the longest lines so visit them first thing early in AM. I would start the first day with the Eiffel Tower IF you are in the city before it opens (9:30AM), if not save it for late the first night (last elevator to top @ 10:30PM %26amp; line can be %26gt;1 hr when busy).
The Batobus is a water taxi and a good way to cruise the Seine. Its a lot quicker than a hop on/off bus. You will also see much more than with the Metro. www.batobus.com.
A 2 day Paris Museum Pass will allow you enter each site mentioned (except Eiffel) and bypass the ticket buyers line. Will save a lot of time, and probably some money. Available at many hotels, museums, and FNAC. www.parismuseumpass.com
*****When short on time, the taxis are very convenient if its not rush hour; average 5-6 Euros within central Paris.
DAY 1
1. Eiffel Tower, Batobus to Notre Dame, Conciergerie (20-30 minutes and often overlooked-interesting but not beautiful), %26amp; Sainte Chapelle, lunch on the island by ND, or Ile St Louis.
2. Visit Louvre (count on at least 2 hours %26amp; make sure you see the big 3-Winged Victory, Venus, ML). Doubt if you will have the time to see Napoleon%26#39;s Apartments, but worth it if you do. Keep in mind time passes very quickly when walking the Louvre and the more you admire, the more time will fly. You will have to just walk past most of the art unless that is what you want to do all day. Keep a close eye on your watch.
3. If you have time, exit and walk through the L%26#39;arc du Carrousel and Tuileries to the Place de la Concorde, otherwise you can Batobus to the Pont Alexander.
4. Head to Montmartre by Metro or taxi (about 8 Euro from Louvre/Tuileries area), and sit on the steps of Sacre-Coeur before or after dinner.
5. If you didn%26#39;t visit the Eiffel Tower in AM, skip Sacre-Coeur and go to the Eiffel Tower tonight.
6. If you find yourself with time, check if the Bateaux are still cruising the Seine (last boat at 10:45 in summer, not sure Oct) or take a taxi past some of the illuminated sites- Arc, de Triomphe, Eiffel, Place Concorde, etc.
DAY 2
1. Start your day at Musee d%26#39;Orsay BEFORE it opens (if you have a pass, go around to the passholder line). allow 2 hours
2. Walk to Invalides and tour Napoleon%26#39;s Tomb (1hr). Walk to Musee Rodin to at least visit the garden and %26quot;The Thinker%26quot;.
3. Have lunch in the garden cafe or walk to Rue Cler, or Rue St Dominique, or Champs-Elysees.
4. Make your way to Arc de Triomphe (climb up to the top for the view if you have time). Walk down the Champs-Elysees for a few blocks.
5. Spend the afternoon in the Latin Quarter, have coffee at Cafe Flore or Cafe les Deux Magots.
6. Enjoy a crepe or a Berthillon ice cream or both.
7. If time visit the Luxenbourg Garden or Sacre Coeur if you weren%26#39;t there yet.
I think you can at least do most of this, if not all. Just make sure that you do take a break no matter how ambitious or rushed you are. Sit in a park, or cafe and just relax for a bit while you breath in Paris! And have fun!!
