You might be able to be married in the church at Les Baux, but to be married in France one of the couple much be a legal resident of France. Individual churches seem to have their own requirements for marrying non-parishioners. Also, you would have to arrange a civil ceremony in a nearby town.

I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;d want to hold a ceremony up in the ruins--much too windy!

Thank you for your quick response

I actually plan to do only a civil ceremony and my wife is French but not from the area. Do you have any solution for that?

Also I originally wanted to know about good weeding venues (hotel ) to prefom the reception, if you know something?

There are some pretty strict legal requirements regarding getting married in France. I think, for example, that one of the parties must have been legally resident in the commune where the marriage is to take place for at least 40 days prior to the civil ceremony, which must be performed by the mayor (or his designated representative).

I think you should probably contact the French embassy in the Netherlands where you will doubtless be able to get all the necessary details.

Aside from the church, I haven%26#39;t seen anything at Les Baux that would be a good setting for a wedding. There are a few touristy restaurants and one small hotel actually in the area below the ruins.

If you want a lovely setting nearby--and one that would provide parking for your guests (parking near the actual site is very difficult) you might consider the Oustau de Beaumanière, which is just below the summit. It%26#39;s a Relais et Châteaux property with a renowned restaurant, and the grouns are very nice.

I was married in a château near les Baux last year, since I had no experience I have hired a wedding planner from the Alchimie originelle group. I really recommend anyone to use their services, my wedding was a real success!

I rather fancy if L%26#39;Ousteau de la Beaumaniere is good enough for Jean Reno, a couple of months ago, it might well be good enough for us ordinary mortals.
