Inscrutible email from Bee Shuttle Service

After getting tips from this forum, I wrote to Bee Shuttle Service to request a pickup at the airport. I received this reply:

%26gt; Pick/up time : 09:10.

%26gt; Transfer Rate : 24 Euros ( 1 adult)

%26gt;%26gt;

%26gt; **********************************************

%26gt; VERY IMPORTANT

%26gt; **********************************************

%26gt;

OUR DRIVER WILL MEET YOU AT: TERMINAL 2 A EXIT 8.At arrival level.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR PICK UP TIME IS AT : 12:00 AT YOUR MEETING POINT .

---

My question: what the heck time am I being picked up? 9:10 or 12:00 noon?? I have written back for clarification, but if any of you have used this service can you let me know if you really had to wait 3 to 4 hours after your plane landed for an airport pickup?

Thanks

That is a good e-mail, and good luck figuring it out. Given the uneven service of the shuttle companies as reported by some here (I do not use them), you might be better off spending an additional E 15-20 and taking a taxi. Quite a few people have reported hassles and delays with the shuttle services as being the most vivid memory of their first day in France. With a taxi you are in control - no waiting and wondering, roundabout trips to other hotels, lost baggage, etc.

It would be much easier and less hastle and stress if you take a taxi you step out of the Airport and there is lost of them.

The shuttle service have a bad reputation their service is quite incompetent.

I did get an email back from them stating that they made a mistake and they will pick me up at 9:10, but I have to say I am leaning toward cancelling and just taking a taxi at this point... I certainly don%26#39;t want to get there after something like 16 hours in transit and have to deal with a big hassle.

Thanks for the tips.

I have never used Bee services but I know that Rick Steves recommends them and other people on this forum have used and recommended them.

I have used the Bluvan.fr about 22 times over the years and I have never had any complaints with them.

There must be a mistake on the e-mail. You are doing the right thing in contacting them now and clearing it up!

Is there a toll free # you can call?

Or can you send them an e-mail requesting clarification?

I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes past my pick up time. I also call the toll free # to the shuttle when I arrive to be picked up! I let them know immediately that I am there.

My hubby came 5 weeks later than I this last summer. He did not listen to me and when to the wrong floor/door for a pick up. He kept calling the company and asking when they were going to pick him up.They told him they just had been looking for him!

After an hour of waiting and three calls he finally read the information and went down stairs to the correct pick up location door! It was all his fault and they were so very nice. They even let him use their cell phone to call me and let me know what was going on.

I have had three bad experiences with taxi pickup and the RER and AirFrance bus so don%26#39;t expect all smooth sailing on all one%26#39;s trips.

I was robbed and assulted at 2:00 pm om the RER in the 5 th by two men. I have recounted the experience before.

I took a Taxi and the guy stopped and ran errands for himself went to get gas and proceeded to overcharge me for the trip ( 65 Euros for what should have been about 40-50 E).

I pre-purchased Air France bus tickets for my family of 4. We put our luggage on board and got on the bus! The driver would not accept my vouchers he wanted $20. more per person ! I told my family to get on board and to sit down! I told him call the police! It was all very difficult situation! He finally asked me for the vouchers. I was told a month after the trip that he was fired and that he was just trying to collect extra money! I also got an apology from the company!

If you are on top of that e-mail now you may be able to forego any future problems! Be sure to post your experience when you return,

Wow... okay, thanks for the tips and very sorry to hear about your experiences. Scary to say the least.

I did get an email back from the Bee Shuttle service right away stating that they had made a mistake and that the correct pickup time is 9:10 a.m., which is what I was hoping.

Because I don%26#39;t speak French, I thought it would be easier for me to set up a shuttle pickup in advance and then find someone holding a sign with my name on it. I know about the polite words, etc., but a conversation is definitely beyond my grasp.

Oh, and I like to write and will probably set up a blog so that I can post pictures and show my whole trip experience. I promise that I will bore you to tears with all the details... :-)

They do not hold up a sign at least I have never seen it only Limo-Towncar pickups. You have to follow the instructions for the pick ups.

Most of the drivers on these shuttles do speak English (not so with taxi drivers).

One tip: I print up in large bold type the name and address of my hotel for the driver.

He usually puts the information into his mapping device and I get there in quickly!

I also print up a few to put in my pocket for late night taxi rides back to my hotel! It works very well!

A shuttle usually makes no more than three drop offs and the ride can be a little tour of Paris which will be interesting for you since it has been so long!

I can not wait to read your your trip report.

3 years ago we had very courteous, prompt and reliable service from Bee Shuttle. They were waiting for us, as promised on arrival and came to pick us up on time as well. We have not used them since only because their hours of operation did not coincide with our flights.
