I%26#39;m travelling to Paris in October and thinking of staying in the Marais area. I%26#39;ve narrowed down my choices to 2 apartments. Has anyone dealt with these agencies too?
http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_69.htm
…provaction.com/paris/CARROUSSELuk2.html
The first one is $125 per night and is an American based company so prices are in dollars. Deposits can be made with credit cards.
The 2nd is $126 per night (converted) and is based in France. THey only take bank wire transfers and is more of a hassle, but there seems to be more amenities.
TIA for your help!

Hi:
Vacation in paris has come up on this website before. You may want to do a search in the forum under %26quot;vacation rentals%26quot; to see if anyone posted any reviews. I think they%26#39;re supposed to be good. I like the Marais, but if you prefer to walk most places, I think the other apartment may be slightly more conveniently located.
As for the other apartment, it isn%26#39;t in the Marais. It is in a very nice area, though. We stayed near there once and it%26#39;s very convenient to the sites, shopping, and the nice pedestrian street Rue Montorgueil.
Not sure if this helps narrow it down as I think you%26#39;d do well in either place!

We%26#39;ve stayed in 2 different Vacationinparis apartments one in the 2nd and one in the 7th. I liked the convenience of using my credit card to pay and they have an 800 number you can call with questions. I%26#39;m planning our November trip and have been looking at some really great looking apartments. I will most likley use vacationinparis again simply because of the convenience they provide. I also like that they mail the keys to you. There is no need to meet someone at the apartment or go to an agency office to get them. The two apartments we%26#39;ve used were pretty much as depicted int he photos. They were clean and cozy.
I am considering using Perfectlyparis.com. They have some really good reviews here and the apartments look wonderful. They are mostly all in the Mont Marte area. We might bring our grandson this time so if that happens I think we should stay on flatter ground with lots of grassland. the Eiffel Tower or Louvre area seems a better choice with a small child.
A friend stayed in an apartment in the 7th with parisperfect.com. She loved it. They are a bit too expensive for us though.

One French agency that I dealt with has made a bad name for all the rest, in my book. They are much more difficult to deal with if something goes wrong, (no heat for 5 days, e.g.) and it%26#39;s impossible to get any kind of refund once they have your money, or card number. I think an American company might be more reasonable and have better customer service.
Vacationinparis gets great reviews here.

They did get one bad review here awhile back. The apartment was called %26quot;The Chef%26#39;s apartment%26quot; I think. I looked at that apartment on the i-net and it was not one I would consider renting. Too cluttered looking for me. While I realize that many apartments are private residences most of the time. I tend to avoid the places that look a little to lived in.

I%26#39;ve not dealt with any of them. I wanted to stay at the same one, the second one, studio provaction, but she first said it was available then said it wasn%26#39;t and this is 2 months in advance... I didn%26#39;t like her attitude though I like 3 of the apartments from their listing. If you stay there, please let me know how it went.
We just got back and stayed here: http://www.clementine.la/. It was a smooth transaction, 100 euros deposit via Paypal. Granted it was small and I preferred to have a living room, it was convenient location for us as I like the Bastille area and walkable distance to Berthillion in Ille St. Louis.
Have fun!

Which apartment did you end up choosing? i am looking at a couple apartments from the second company - studio.provaction.com - just curious if you dealt with them or vacation in paris?

awed81, I just got back and, having used vacationinparis for my fourth time, I still recommend them highly. We%26#39;ve stayed in three of their apts and have always had great experiences with both the company as well as the owner or manager, whomever is our contact upon arrival.

Happy, which apartment did you have this trip? We are staying in #112 in November. This is the third time we%26#39;ve used them. I spent hours on the internet agaonising over apartments. Finally I decided to stick with a known quanity. They are so simple to use that even if they don%26#39;t have the most luxurious apartments I will continue to use this company.

Just back from our 3rd rental from perfectlyparis.com This time, with another couple, we stayed in La Belle Epoque. The apartment has an excellent layout to maximize privacy for all and has a great combination of charm and functionality. We were all very comfortable. For suzanne: this apartment is in the 9th, really skirting Montmartre; if you are worried about more flat terrain with a child, this is a good choice. It is only up one flight of stairs and directly across from the building entrance is a playground -- the Square Montholon! It%26#39;s 2-minutes on foot to at least 2 different bakeries and a supermarket and only 10 minutes from the fabulous food stores of rue des Martyrs. We loaded up there many a day.Two neighborhood restaurants we enjoyed: Bistro Papillon and Hugo. We also wish we had had time to try Carte Blanche.
