Ok so we have booked the Eurostar and arrive in Gare Du Nord around mid day. Not keen on trying to use the underground so we need a nice place to eat and some things to see in wheeling distance of the station!
Any ideas?

Welcome Laurieavadis!
You%26#39;ll probably get more and better responses to your query if you repost it in the Paris forum.
Is this just a day trip? If so, there is really not much of any great interest within walking and wheelchair distance of Gare du Nord. There are a couple of OK places for lunch though. I%26#39;d suggest Chez Michel on rue de Belzunce just a couple of short blocks from the station, a regional bistro with good food with a Breton influence.
The area round the station is a bit lacking in charm or the traditional Paris look and feel. Can your mother and her wheelchair manage a taxi? If so, a short ride away is the Seine, and more specifically the islands at the heart of Paris where you will find Notre Dame cathedral, and the Sainte Chapelle on Ile de la Cité and the always delightful Ile St. Louis just across a short bridge from the first.
There is a pleasant park and garden behind the cathedral and some of the world%26#39;s best ice cream on the Ile St. Louis.
Hope this helps — but do re-post your query in the paris forum.

How nice are you!!!!!!
Very many thanks. My French is quite good so I will certainly try to flag down a cab and get her into it.
Kind regards
Laurie

Laurie, you will not be able to %26quot; flag down%26quot; a taxi.
Luckily that is completely unnessesary, as right outside the doors of Gard du Nord( and most stations I am sure) is a %26quot; Taxi Stand%26quot;. You just get in the line up and take a taxi from there.
