My friend and I are planning a 10 day trip to Paris in April 2007. Does anyone have any information on how to go about arranging
a rental for 10 days and which are the best areas to look?

Hi Daisy:
I suggest doing a search in the forum for %26quot;apartment rental.%26quot; There are several recommendations for companies that offer rentals. Personally, I think the best areas to stay are the 6th (first choice), 4th or 5th. Other than that, my preference would be anything from the 1st to the 8th. Of course, there are good things to be said about all areas of Paris, but those arrondissements are closest to the main tourist attractions and night life.

Thanks for the quick reply Mopsydog. I have researched the areas and I agree with your information. We are looking for 2 bedrom apartment . If you have any suggestions on reputable rental agencies it sure would be appreciated. Also do you have any insight as to how far ahead we should be booking

Hello Daisy, You will find a large selection on VRBO.COM, I always found interesting apartment there. You should book as should as possible once you found something that fit your needs and budget.
Bon voyage

Thanks Luckyluc. I have visited their site and am impressed. First
time visit to Paris and just wanted some reassurance.
If you have visited Paris do you think2 weeks is too long to stay in the city?
Thanks Daisyw

Two weeks is just perfect for a stay, it will allow you some breathing time at the cafés and parks and you will get a chance to really feeling the city instead of just %26quot;doing it%26quot;.

Hi:
I agree - VRBO is a good site.
As for staying 2 weeks in the city, I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s too long. There are so many things to see and do. It does, though, give you enough time to see some other things if you want. There are many places to take a day trip or even an overnight like Versailles, Giverny or some of the Loire Valley.

I recommend www.lodgis.com. It is far more well structured than VRBO - has more details and always have a map of the location and area. And the deposits are not so high as e.g. ParisAttitude (another large rental company).
I admit I have not yet rented an apartment with Lodgis, but others have and have written positiviely about it. I will rent an apartment with them though - for next summer, 2 weeks.

Sorry Daisy - I missed your previous question to me...
The further ahead you can book, the better so you%26#39;ll have more options. If you%26#39;re booking now for April, I%26#39;d imagine there will be lots of availability. The prices are usually set by the time of year you%26#39;re renting. You%26#39;ll be able to see when the prices change for each individual apartment.
Here%26#39;s a couple postings on VRBO that look promising, without knowing your budget or exactly what style you like:

#44863
And from Lodgis

# 3050892

Thanks Mopsydog will explore the apartments you listed this evening.

Thanks Luckyluc. I really do like to take my time and see the real
aspects of the area I am visiting. My friend and I thought that an apartment would be better so that we could also enjoy some food from the local store at our leisure. My hobby is cooking. Not that we intend to stay in but I have to experience cooking myself at least a couple of times
