If you go, I%26#39;d be interested in hearing about it afterward. I%26#39;ve been curious about these dinners for some time -- also about Patricia LaPlante-Collins%26#39; soirees (another American in Paris). I found this reference to both, but am not sure how old the information is.

sure...let me know what you think. i thought it would be nice if we know of someone else who is going, so we can hook up at jims. obviously we%26#39;ll meet others, but its always nice to have pre-arranged pals, so to speak.

:-)

thought i%26#39;d bump this, in case anyone else plans to go on sept. 17th...

xplors...hi...this sounds SO fun...my problem with committing to it though, is that we will have just arrived on Sunday, mid-afternoon. I am afraid our heads will fall in the soup by 8:30. Great idea though.

it sounds like a terrific evening to me, and i hope youll be there. are you just arriving from boston that night? i think we talked in the london forum...and that youll be in london first...? anyhow, let me know if you decide to go. jim seems pretty easygoing, and you can probably just contact him on the day.

Yes, please do post! I%26#39;ve been curious as well. I%26#39;ll be visiting Paris in December and would like to add one or both of these activities to my itinerary. Would like to know from TA travellers before doing so however. Thanks in advance!

I have gone twice recently, the second time there were not many people around as it was the final France-Italy for the world soccer cup, but the first time we were about sixty.

You send him an email, you call the sunday morning to reconfirm and get the adress, door code. He recommended i bring an enveloppe with a donation of 20 euros for the food.

It was good, got to meet many people, mostly in their fourties-fifties, French or Mostly americans.

You get someone serving you the food, you can get a second serving, and the dessert was fruit salad.

As the weather was nice, we were in the common alleyway, very nice.

i%26#39;ll try to post when we get home, and thx for the info, raphy.

happygoin: if you do go on the 17th (and please keep it in mind!) - ask around for xplors from toronto. it will be two of us, and we%26#39;d love to hook up with you.

Hi Xplors...I have mentioned it to my traveling companion. I am going to have her read previous poster%26#39;s review and see if she wants to go. I would love to. It sounds really interesting...like one of the 1940%26#39;s %26quot;Salons%26quot; don%26#39;t you think? Will definitely ask around for you if we go.
