Gay / Gay-friendly hotel in Paris for Easter 2007

Me and friend will be coming to Paris for a week or so next Easter and would like to stay in a gay hotel, or a gay-friendly hotel in the Marais area, or anywhere in the 3ème or 4ème arrondissements.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be gratefully received!

Feel free to e-mail me on moxual@hotmail.com

lickylonglips, it%26#39;s very common for certain people to use programs that search through message boards such as Tripadvisor to %26#39;harvest%26#39; email addresses.

It%26#39;s probably best if you didn%26#39;t advertise it unless it%26#39;s your public spam-infested address :)

thanks

Oh, besides that I can%26#39;t really help you. There are loads of gay-friendly hotels in town and I have no idea which is better than others.

Because they are mostly found in the Marais area though is great news as it%26#39;s becoming (if not already there!) the most %26#39;happenin%26#39; place in town :)

There was a similar thread a few months ago, you might retrieve it by writing %26quot;gay + hotels + Paris%26quot; in the search box. I vaguely remember places such as the hotel Duo, Caron de Beaumarchais, etc. were mentioned. Having said that, nobody will bat an eye lid in any Paris hotel at the vision of a same s*x couple checking in.

Hotel Central on Rue Vielle Du Temple is in the heart of the Marais amongst all the bars and Restuarants and caters specifically for the gay community. Also nearby is Hotel de la Bretonnerie, about 110 Euros per night which is also very good and gay friendly.

The Central is the only gay-owned hotel in Paris. Frankly, it%26#39;s not a place you%26#39;d probably want to stay! Bretonnerie is very nice, although the standard rooms are incredibly tiny (you can only get into bed from one side, for example) and the larger rooms are pricier at around 150 euros. There%26#39;s also Axial Beaubourg (for some reason I seem to think that it%26#39;s changed names recently).

|||

Yes, Truffaut, the Axial is now named %26quot;Duo%26quot;.

I have to agree with Truffaut that the Central isn%26#39;t a great place, although it is the only hotel in Paris that is bills itself as gay. It hasn%26#39;t been updated in a long time, and most of the rooms do not have a toilette ensuite. You might try purpleroofs.com if you haven%26#39;t been there yet. It lists a number of gay friendly places. Otherwise, I%26#39;ve never felt uncomfortable staying in any hotel in Paris, whether with a friend, partner or whatever. And that goes for the little place I stay at in the Quartier Latin to the Grand by l%26#39;Opera. The Bretonnerie is a very nice hotel from what I%26#39;ve seen, and it%26#39;s in a great location, both for access to the rest of the city, and stumbling home from bars if that%26#39;s part of the plan.

Arrow, please email me at dgad %26quot;at%26quot; aol.com

Truffaut:

Tried to email you but AOL said that address wasn%26#39;t a valid screenname. You can email me on AOL or Yahoo using my name....arrowcapet

I%26#39;m logging on to AOL using aol.com, so I%26#39;m not sure if that%26#39;s the reason. Doesn%26#39;t make a lot of sense to me, but web addresses default to regional sites no matter which URL I type in. AOL defaults to the UK, google.com defaults to google.fr

And one site I use regularly won%26#39;t come up at all under its usual URL, but I get a note saying it isn%26#39;t accessible due to a recent French judicial procedure (RBTL), and I have to access it using a different URL. Interesting.

Yahoo seems to be working just fine, so email me there. I don%26#39;t want to email you at that address from yahoo just in case it really is a typo.
