Can anyone help with my planning. I am taking my girlfriend to Paris in early December. We arrive on the Fri night, and will be leaving on the Sun afternnon. I am trying to make our short stay as special as possible and would like any advise on any must do%26#39;s or romantic things to do

Whoa, where do you start in answering this question!?! Check www.paris.org or some of the many other websites about Paris for things to do. Seine dinner cruise (access bookings thru paris.org tourist resourse tab) -- dinner at Altitude 95 in the Eiffel Tower (www.tour-eiffel.fr--the Jules Verne restaurant is very expensive, hard to book %26amp; has questionable reviews) ---- the view from the top of the Arch de Triumphe (take the underpass entry , don%26#39;t try to cross the round-about) --- a walk thru Jardins du Luxemborg or Jardins du Tullaries --- so many things -- you choose -- have fun.

Thank you DMCD, I like the sound of the dinner river cruise!!!
Any other suggestions out there???

The best dinner cruise is with Yachts de Paris [pricy] , followed by Bateaux Parisiens and Bateaux Mouches.
Many feel these are not worthwhile, that is better to have a restaurant dinner and then a cruise.
Vedettes de Pont Neuf is probably the best choice.

On the first night, sunset drinks at Altitude 95 on the Eiffel Tower, followed by dinner at the Cafe de l%26#39;Homme with a table looking on to the ET.
Second night, early evening Seine cruise followed by dinner at a small local bistro, preferably further East, in the Marais, near the Latin Qtr, along the Canal St Martin, or why not Montmartre?
A stroll through the gardens of the Rodin museum (it can be intimate in the back) and maybe even a lunch at their garden cafe. Lunch at the Musee Jaquemart Andre is also pretty extraordianary, if you are into old art (incredible ceiling mural).
Lingere shopping at the Galeries Lafayette, beside the stained glass dome is pretty romantic, too.
Finding an isolated spot at the Louvre is easier than you might think, same for the d%26#39;Orsay museum and the Carnavalet (this last one is on the history of Paris and is free).

Walk through the garden behind Notre Dame over to Isle St. Louis and have dinner at Lilot Vache #35 on the main drag. A nice stroll with some good window shopping and a nice, affordable (for Paris) restaurant. A more touristry option would be Georges atop Centre Pompidou for a great view.
I like Jules Verne but have a hard time enjoying it knowing what it is costing me. I think it is a better lunch option.
Another very %26quot;French%26quot; restaurant is Le Cigale de Recamier in the 7th, I think. Excellen souffles and nice outdoor dining if weather permits.

Early December you should be able to already enjoy some of Paris%26#39;s pre Christmas attractions: the ice rink at the Hôtel de Ville, the lights in the trees on the Champs Elysées, the windows in the Grands Magasins on bd Haussmann. Otherwise, phread is right: Café de l%26#39;Homme is unbeatable. Book as early as possible though, and mention you want a table that%26#39;s really close to the window, not behind a bunch of Ukrainian models!

Thank you to you all, you have given me some great ideas. The restaurant suggestions look great!!!!
