Cheap, safe and good hotels in France

Can anyone recommend any websites for cheap hotels in Europe for the cities of:

Paris

Lyon

Nice

Marseille

Avignon

Thanks!

Try this web-site www.accorhotels.com then click on links to either Etap or Formule 1. They are cheap basic hotels but will not be right in the town centre.

Asa rule, I prefer to stay with locally owned hotels and avoid the large chains if possible. Logis de France is an association of individually owned hotels where one usually finds the owner on site. They often have excellent restaurants as well. You may check their site at:

The best value is usually a chambre d%26#39;hotes, rooms available in an owners home. They sometimes offer meals at a very modest price and always include breakfast. Many of these are very comfortable and can be more plush than a hotel. Check:

One of the many advantages of a chambre d%26#39;hotes is that it is very easy to meet other travelers and draw upon their travel knowledge. We have discovered many interesting locations by talking with others this way.

Hello again,alfromcebu, you%26#39;re getting around, aren%26#39;t you?

Logis de france would be my first choice, too - we%26#39;ve booked with them in the past %26amp; found them reliable. Also - www.inter-hotel.com

Ibis hotels are on the Accor site %26amp; are comfortable enough.

Otherwise, as I stated on the Spain forum, check out reviews %26amp; hotels on Trip Advisor.

I think this post will be a little late but I can%26#39;t praise the Accor chain highly enough; they are great value - we recently stayed in the one in Epernay and also one near Boulogne. Both were around 60EUR a night, in a clean bright room with TV and full bathroom, served an excellent breakfast with a helpyourself table and freshly squeezed juice, cereal, breads, cheese ham etc etc.

We were so tired after a long drive that we had dinner in the Accor, Epernay and the food and service were as good, if not better, than some of the more %26quot;upmarket%26quot; places we ate at long the way - the service was particularly friendly and helpful.

This chain deserves better recognition for providing service, great food and a clean, cheap place for a stopover, either for one night or longer.
