about to book stay in Sequoia Lodge

Hi Everyone!

I’m just about to book our holiday to Disneyland Paris.

I am planning on booking for 5 nights in Sequoia Lodge in a Montanna room travelling by Eurostar.

There will be 2 adults and 2 children in our group and we’re going to pre-book Character breakfast, teaparty and Buffalo Bill.

We plan on going during March 2007.

Does anyone have any advice about things we should know before booking?

Also does anyone have any advice about being in Disneyland Paris during March?

Thankyou

Hi, i used to work at the Sequoia Lodge and i think that you will love it. its a huge hotel but it doesn%26#39;t feel it inside. some of the rooms are set in small blocks away from the main building but i can%26#39;t remember which type of rooms they are. (all gorgeous though). the pool area is brilliant.

the bar is lovely and has a big open fire which in march will be lovely.

always characters around.

i used to work in one of the 2restaurants that they have in the hotel. i used to work in %26#39;Beaver Creek%26#39; and the other one is the %26#39;Hunters Grill%26#39;. hunters is great if you like your meat! as you walk down the stairs from by the bar towards the restaurant you will see the big rotisserie full of meat!

myself and former colleagues actually love it so much that we meet there once a year. some still work in the same job and others travel a long way. i actually fly out this saturday for this years said reunion. the Sequoia isn%26#39;t advertised as much as the other hotels for some reason but i love it as to me it has a real homely feel.

advice for march is wrap up warm!

you have a big shopping complex really close to Disney aswell called val d%26#39;europe. here you will find a huge 2level supermarket to stock up on any essentials. if the kids are bored of mickey, its here where you will find the sea life centre.

to get here take the train from the RER train station which is right by the entrance to both parks. its one stop on the train,

enjoy!

Hi Sarah!

Thanks for all the information, it sounds great!

Definatly good to know about the supermarket so close, we%26#39;ll definatly be popping there for bottled water and other drinks as everyone seems to agree that the drinks in the parks are really expensive.

Have a great time while you%26#39;re all there!

Thanks again :-)

Hi, i went to Disneyland Paris in March 4 years ago and had a wicked time, the weather was good and it was%26#39;nt too crowded (and this was during the kids go free offer) .

We also stayed at Sequoia Lodge and had a lake view room, no complaints at all. Did the character breakfast and whilst its overpriced food wise it%26#39;s worth it to see the smile on the kids faces.

Just booked again to go in March 2007, staying at Newport Bay this time %26amp; doing the character breakfast again. Just could%26#39;nt resist the kids go free and 3 nights for price of 2 offer.

we booked the character dinner for our first night, in Cafe Mickey. It was better than I though, 9 or 10 main characters, they sign and pose for pic%26#39;s, nice relaxed atmosphere, they come to the tables etc. Good to get the main ones first as whilst in park plenty of chance, can be a nightmare with pushy crowds or disapointments if it%26#39;s just a photo point and no signing. Children dinner was nugget%26#39;s, pizza, pasta etc, they get to keep a sports cup, adult%26#39;s set menu better than I thought would be.

Buffalo Bill%26#39;s.....ummm...it was okay, but to be honest we didn%26#39;t feel it was worth the £120ish for the four of us, (you do get to keep the hats) thought it was over hyped. Whilst the service/set up was good and they tried to get a good atmosphere it didn%26#39;t really have any lasting memories, quite boring in places...convayer belt style.

Hi Jackie and Lara!

Thanks for the extra information! :-)

We have booked our holiday now with the details I first mentioned and are very excited! All the extra information is such a help with the planning though!

So if anyone else has any advice or tips for us to make the most of our holiday it will be very much appreciated!

Thanks again!

We went March last year, during the kids go free offer and it was crowded, so be prepared for that, if its not crowded, then count yourself lucky. There was a couple of rides closed, Space Mountain (they were updating it), Casey Junior train from what I remember, so don%26#39;t be too disapointed if you find this to be the case, they give you no notice. The weather was really nice, but chilly in the evening. Cafe Mickey is great for evening meal, Kids get to meet all the characters at the table, no need to follow them around, the breakfast is ok, good selection of food, but not worth it in my opinion, go for the evening meal. Didn%26#39;t do Buffalo Bill (hubby is a veggie, so not a lot for him there!!!!!!) but the rainforest cafe is good and the kids love it.

Hi Angelica!

Thanks for letting me know, sounds like the crowds in March vary hugely we%26#39;re there from a Sun to Fri so missing the major weekend crush, fingers crossed we%26#39;ll be lucky!

Definatly sounds like cafe Mickey%26#39;s going to be on our list to visit.

Are there any other %26#39;must see/do%26#39; that people would recomend?

Now the summers coming to an end I%26#39;m really looking forward to it! :-) Thanks again!

A couple of years ago I went to DLP at the end of Feb/ beginning of March and it was SO COLD that the lake was frozen over... Huge icicles everywhere and about two feet of snow on our last day. Really cold... but REALLY pretty as you can imagine.

This year we went in mid-January expecting the very worst and the weather was fantastic.

Bright and sunny, just a little cold.

I think what I%26#39;m trying to say is be prepared... just in case.

|||

Thanks Lily!

We%26#39;ll make sure we have plenty of warm layers just in case!

I too have recently booked a holiday at Sequoia Lodge.

Can anyone tell me what the play facilities are like for children both indoors and outdoors?
