Try using RER Line A from Gare de Lyon (it will have the Destination as La Defense)and get off at Chatelet les Halles (Not plain Chatelet) and then get on RER B3 Destination Charles de Gaulle. Note these are RER train lines and not the M (metro lines) but are easily accessible from Gare de Lyon.

I did the same journey last November based on the advice of the concierge at the hotel I was staying at and it was very easy. You get off RER Line A on one platform and literally just walk across the width of the platform to the next train line RER B3 directly to the airport.

Easy as you dont have to go and down escalators etc to different levels.

Enjoy Paris.
