Good evening to all my fellow travel fundies.
I have booked a three night stay at the Westminster hotel . They have given us an excellent rate and for first time visitors, i believe that the position is very ideal. From Their web page it looks like a real old world hotel. What are your comments and experiences regarding this hotel. Thank you all once again.

My husband and I stayed there several years ago for six days. You can%26#39;t beat the location.
The staff was lovely, the room was quiet and the bathroom was nice and very clean. The room was small, even by french standards and our bed, though not uncomfortable, could have been replaced. That said, we had a wonderful time and hope you do too.
Don%26#39;t forget to check the travel advisor hotel reviews for more feedback.

What you should do is locate the hotel, at 15 rue de la Paix--near its intersection with rue Daunou on any good Paris streetmap...and then find the relative locations of the sights and attractions of Paris that interest you most.
But in broad general terms, the hotel is located within easy strolling walking distances of the Louvre, Jardin de Tuileries, an easy walk to the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps %26#39;grand magazins%26#39;, up on Blvd Haussmann a bit more than a block south of Place de la Opera, which is a %26#39;crossroads%26#39; for three(3) different Metro lignes and several public bus routes. All and all, a pretty convenient neighborhood.

KDKSAIL has spoken to location and convenience, and I completely agree.
As to quality, the Westminster is outstanding. Great rooms, great ambience, and an attentive, professional and experienced staff. Normally, it%26#39;s also great value for the price. If you got a deal, you deserve congratulations!

Dear firewind.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to email me. It really is much appreciated. As you have read, it will be our first trip to Paris and its a surprise to celebrate 15 years of marriage aswell as my wife%26#39;s birthday. I have literally spent two months looking at all the accomodation available. They gave us the best deal, and the hotel looks great and i know that my wife will feel like a princess. I am taking the my two children along ( 8 %26amp; 10 ) and it will be a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time together. Whats your take on staying three nights at Euro disney. We have been to Orlando and stayed their for two weeks. It was awesome, and my wife cried when she saw Mickey and Donald for the first time at Magic Kingdom. We will be coming from South Africa.Thanking you once again

Dear Kdksail.
I would also loke to thank you for the trouble and effort taken to write to me. Your comments have finally given me peace, and i know that i have chosen the write hotel and area. I can finally stop searching for accomodation in Paris. I would however like to ask your opinion on accomodation at euro disney. Do you think one colud use Paris as a base and travel to euro disney on a daily basis? How many days would we need to see it properly ? My family are crazy about it .Do you think it would be a cheaper option to rather stay in the Park closer to all the action and saving on all the traveling ? I await your reply. Thank you once again.

Hi 04-03-06,
You made a nice decision considering the great deal you get. Hotel%26#39;s location is very convenient with Opera metro station and Auber RER station a couple of blocks away, in a classy part of the city. As you%26#39;d be staying close to Auber, i would consider taking the RER directly to the park. Most Eurodisney hotels offer less value for money than similar hotels in Paris.

I think that once you have seen Disney, you are done. You have seen it.
Amusement parks are great in American States where the weather is always good and there is not much else to do.
While in Paris, enjoy the culture, history, architecture, sheer beauty, museums, exhibits, gastronomy, side walk cafes, great shopping etc. That%26#39;s what you come to Paris for.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;, it will be our first trip to Paris and its a surprise to celebrate 15 years of marriage aswell as my wife%26#39;s birthday.%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
For what it%26#39;s worth, Your hotel will also be located within easy strolling distence of the Place de la Madeleine. There is a daily flower market there. Get up early and go out on your own, as you pass the front desk, arrange for breakfast to be delivere to the room in 45-60 mins, stroll over to the Place de la Madeleine, scoop up a buch of everything--or untill you have an armload. With a bit of luck, you%26#39;ll arrive back at the room with your armload of flowers, just as breakfast is being delivered to your wife in bed. Not exactly a horible way for her to begin her birthday. Of course, Cartier%26#39;s is located just 1 1/2 blocks south, on Place Vendome...but I don%26#39;t think they open until at least 10 AM...so the timing might not work out as well as with the flowers.

Sorry for the delay. I agree with greece4ever and la photographe. Stay in town and travel out for the day. The RER trip back into town at the end can be relaxing and restorative. Stay AT Disney World in Orlando, where it%26#39;s the higher-end lodging experience. While in France, you%26#39;ll want to spend as much time as you can in Paris proper -- one of the world%26#39;s higher-end experiences. And you couldn%26#39;t find a better base than the Westminster. (I would even say save your Disney money for Orlando, but if you must...)
And just one minor difference with KDKSAIL: The %26quot;new%26quot; Cartier (recently totally rebuilt) is just two doors away. You could probably send for something to be delivered, if you aren%26#39;t up for traipsing down in your pajamas to pick up a little something...
Seriously, I think people most enjoy responding to your kind of inquiry here on Trip. So, thank you for the opportunity.
(Added as I proof-read this and reviewed your inquiries: I was keying on your %26quot;Location%26quot; info - usa - above. But if you%26#39;re coming from ZA, and this is your chance for Disney, one day - going out and back - should do it. There is MUCH for the kids in Paris. And as a totally gratuitous comment, I wonder if Disney has Cape Town - one of the most beautiful cities - in its sights for an African Disneyland someday...)

Dear firewind.
Your email and kind words reallyment alot. I must correct you however. Its great people of your high calibre that make visiting this web page an awesome experience. You take the time and effort in your busy schedule to reply to all our mundane querries.
If i may ask one more question, i have a temporary reservation at the Moevenpick Disney. What do you think , should i cancel it and travel through? Whats the final verdict . Many thanks once again. If you are ever in South Africa look us up. ( Orlando disney is awesome )
