Just wondering if anyone has been to Paris for NYE? What%26#39;s it like? Is it freezing? Where is a good place to stay and in what section if you are a couple just wanting to soak in all of the sites but have never been before? We%26#39;re open to any suggestions!
Thanks!

I have been there many times, Restaurants have special menus, Parisians tend to go to private parties. There is honking and celebrating on the grands boulevards and avenues, fire works in a few places, joy on the street. It is seldom freexing especially for DC people who know what cold is. Go and enjoy1

Since you live in the US east coast the Paris climate will not affect you. It can be drizzly so bring an umbrella.
New Year%26#39;s Eve the Parisians either celebrate quietly with close friends and family or go out to have a celebratory meal at a restaurant. Restaurants have the special St. Sylvestre menus which consist of nice prix fixe meals most times with a glass of champagne included in the cost. It is highly recommended that you book your restaurant reservations about a month in advance.

We spent NYE in Paris last year. Before nightfall, stop in a shop for a small bottle of champagne or wine. Close to midnight we went to the Arch, counted down the new year, popped open our bottle at midnight and watched some fireworks beyond the arch and towards the tower. From where we were standing, we were able to see the arch and the tower in the distance. It was awesome. WE stayed for about an hour ot two after midnight just to enjoy the craziness and to people watch.
