Parfum

A customer of mine gave me $100 yesterday with a request to buy his wife the %26quot;latest perfume%26quot; when I%26#39;m in Paris next week, and I know NOTHING about buying perfume and really hate shopping in general. So...other than going to the Benelux on r. de Rivoli, does anyone have a suggestion? Any perfume officionados that can just tell me what to buy and where to go and if I can get an ounce or so for 70€???

I just %26quot;love%26quot; it when people request that you buy them things without being specific. They may think they%26#39;re doing you a favor by not specifying, but in the end it puts a burden on you, especially since you don%26#39;t even like shopping.

|||

I think that %26quot;Les Délices de Cartier%26quot; from Cartier is pretty new.

I would go to Galeries Lafayette and se if they haveanything on BIG display.

Or else you won%26#39;t go wrong with immortal %26quot;Chanel No. 5%26quot;.........

|||

Whatever you get, make sure it is well packed in your checked luggage........because you probably won%26#39;t be able to bring it on the plane with you. (unless the new rules have changed lately)

Gitte - The request was for the %26quot;latest perfume%26quot;, so Chanel No.5 would not be a good idea.

I would just ask the saleslady for a suggestion, and buy whatever she recommends.

You could go into a Sephora shop which sells, I guess, every single perfume made. Ask one of the sales ladies to show you the latest perfumes out-there are always new ones coming out. Then pick what you think is the prettiest bottle as you will have no idea what your friend%26#39;s wife will like.

|||

That%26#39;s a great idea yo select the prettiest bottle. I%26#39;m not a perfume lover, but I do like the bottles some of them come in.

|||

I%26#39;d recommend going to the Bon Marche and picking up a Diptyque perfume on the 2nd floor, far from the rest of the other cosmetics. This something that the wife may have a hard time finding in Michigan.

Otherwise, L%26#39;Artisan Parfumeur has a shop on the boul Raspail, just north of Babylone. Another brand that is affordable and not likely to be found abroad.

Shoesy, have you by any chance been a schoolmistress in a previous life ??

I was JOKING !!! From www.chanel.com:

%26gt;%26gt;

May 1921. When the perfume creator Ernest Beaux presented her with a choice of fragrances, Gabrielle Chanel barely hesitated before choosing the fifth one, which was to become CHANEL N°5.

%26lt;%26lt;

I love nr. 5 - for me it is the eternal, true quintessential perfume.

i suggest you %26quot;gris clair%26quot; from serge lutens. He is one if not the best perfumer in france, and this is his last perfume, it smells so good, and its mixt. otherwise he does great other ones, go to sephora (like champs elysees or passy) or bon marche. it would be 100 dollars exactly (its around 70 euros), and it smells long not like some perfumes that dont last long.

i meant he is one of the best if not the best, and btw he is the one who does les salons de shiseido, at palais royal, a perfume house.
