WARNING! www.parisshuttleservice.com from Beauvais Airport

Just a warning to anyone travelling to Paris from Beauvais airport. As the official transfer company only stops at Port Maillot on the outskirts of Paris and miles from our apartment, we decided to research other shuttle companies and eventually booked the bus from www.parisshuttleservice.com which stops at 4 points throughout the city for just a bit more. Everything seemed ok with friendly emails confirming our booking. Well we reached Beauvais to find no shuttle waiting for us. Eventually after ample %26#39;benefit of the doubt%26#39; time we phoned their office to be told that the driver was on his way. 15 minutes later we phoned again and were greeting by an answer machine and again and again with subsequent attempts. Finally after about an hour a guy came over to us claiming to be from the same company, saying hazily that there must have been an accident or breakdown or something, the driver was not coming and he only had 2 places if we wanted them (not suitable), otherwise we should take the official Beauvais shuttle. Well we had no choice and now regret having not booked the official shuttle in the first place. Although on the other side of the city the taxi stand is just at the other side of the car park where it drops you off and taxi fares are reasonable even to the other side of the city. Needless to say we cancelled our return with paris shuttle service. Since returning we are still waiting for a refund.

I%26#39;m sorry you had trouble with this company, janmac. I had a bad experience recently with another Paris shuttle company, so we will definitely use taxis on our next trip. I hope you get your refund soon and that you had an awesome trip despite getting off to a rocky start.

Just to reiterate for other people Porte Maillot is IN Paris, not the suburbs. It is on the western edge of the city (the furthest away you can get and still be in Paris would be the extreme eastern edge which is about 12 miles away) . You are on metro line 1 which runs west / east thro the centre with connection to numerous other lines and there are a couple of taxi ranks in the area of the bus park. As janmac195 syas, no real reason to find an alternative.

We also booked through parissuttleservice.com and received a very friendly email confirming that we would have a driver pick us up at Beauvais and drive us to Charles de Galle as for four of us, a taxi was VERY expensive. The price was 100 Euros and my credit card was charged before the service took place. Once we landed at Beauvais, our driver was not there and we were informed that there would be no driver by the police officer at the airport. This was a huge problem as we didn%26#39;t have a lot of time to get between the two places. It all ended up working out and once we returned home, I emailed the company several times to get a refund and never received a reply back. Thankfully, my credit card company refunded us the full amount.
