Hotel wanted

Two of us in Paris mid December. looking for advice on decent 2.5 to 3.5 star hotel close to Opera, Seine or La Fayette area, although flexible here. Idea is so we can walk out of hotel at night to see the sights, and not worry to much about having to use Metro

Like to keep price to about Euro 100 if we can.

Just something comfortable, clean and handy to above.

Any help appreciated

How about Hotel Chopin - it is located in one of the quaint covered passages. It is close to Opéra and Galeries Lafayette - and though not smack on the banks of the Seine, you can walk %26quot;everywhere%26quot; from here.

The reviews are excellent - take a look:

This is the website (they only accept reservations on fax ór telephone)

Chances of getting a three + star hotel for 100 euros are slim to none, but, you can find a nice 2 star for about that if you look. I would not choose the Opera area myself, consider the Latin Quarter or around Notre Dame.

There are many good hotels reader reviewed on this site. Go to left hand side of this page, click on %26quot;Paris hotels%26quot; they are listed from best reviewed on down. The prices vary greatly, it is possilbe to see a 100 euro hotel listed on the same page as a 500 euro hotel!

Read reader reviews, take everything with a grain of salt.

Read old posts on this board regarding budget or moderate hotels( your budget is lowish) , you will see many posts that wil be helpful.

Book hotel directly , go to the website and contact them , usaully there is an email address, ask for the best price.

I booked two hotels last August that way and was pleased with both, one cost me 60 euros a night, the other 160.

Good luck.

PS If you narrow your search down to two or three choices post a question regarding the advantages etc of each one and maybe someone who has stayed at them will reply.

If you want, you can call Hotel Migny Opera Montmartre In 9th arraondissement (Montmartre and Moulin Rouge area), at 10 minutes to the champs elysés (metro).

It%26#39;s only 99€ for a Double Room (all renovated).

The phone number of the hotel is 00331 4878 5997.

Enjoy!!

Thanks for your prompt Info..as a newbie traveller will the Montmartre areas be too far out for me??

Being central is really important to us.

|||

Not central to walking to many things , BUT on direct Metro lines.

I prefer the 4th 5th 6th or 1 or 2 for central walking areas.
